www.kingham.co.uk is the site of Kingham MTM Cases Ltd. They make musical instrument cases to specific requirements and have made three mandolin cases for Frances.

www.dogalstrings.it is the site of Dogal Strings who manufacture the Calace Carbon Steel line of mandolin strings. Frances uses RW92 Regular Tension on her modern mandolins. Dogal Strings also make plectrums.

www.calace.it is the site of the Calace factory in Naples. The proprieter, Raffaele Calace Jr., is the grandson of the famous mandolinist and composer of the same name. Frances has purchased the No. 24 and No 26 mandolins for her mandolin teaching project.

www.trekel.de is the site of Trekel Music in Hamburg, Germany, which is probably the biggest publisher and retail seller of mandolin music. Visit this site for all your mandolin music requirements. If you don’t speak German then Maren Trekel is a fluent English speaker and can deal with your enquiries. Music is sent quickly and arrives usually within a few days.

www.utorpheus.com Ut Orpheus Edizioni are publishers of early music in Bologna and they publish a range of urtext mandolin concertos and sonatas (Paolucci and Gervasio sonatas) edited by Ugo Orlandi with the prefaces translated from Italian into English by Frances.

www.hobgoblin.co.uk is the site for Hobgoblin who are specialists in traditional, folk and acoustic musical instruments. They often have a good selection of second hand mandolins at their London branch in Rathbone Place W1. They have started stocking the Dogal strings and might begin to stock the Dogal plectrums if enough people ask for them. Also Michael Cameron who works there is an excellent luthier who will assist you with any repairs and adjustments that your mandolin may require. He has worked on all of Frances’ instruments.
